Alright… I’ve just finished a few articles about the upcoming bass season all about how you’ve spent your time over the seemingly endless Canadian winter.
What’s interesting is speaking to anglers after doing a seminar on this very topic at Bass Pro Shops for their Rapala Days Weekend. I spoke about a few baits that I am going to be trying this weekend and how I modify them.
My first cast for bass in Ontario will likely be on Lake Couchiching with an X-Rap.
What about you?

Tomorrow - Sat June 28th marks the day when life begins again Chris for hopelessly addicted bass-a-holics like you and I. Life from now until Nov. 30th when the season closes will be all wrapped up in everything bass related. When we’re not on the water chasing bass, we’ll be planning in our single-track minds for the next time out. The beauty is we know we need help … but we don’t care, we just wanna bass fish!
A Rapala X Rap on Cooch eh? Good choice. I think I’ll make mine with a Rapala Skitter Pop - on Simcoe!

Hey guys! I’ll be on Rice Lake bright and early opening day, pre-fishing for the Bassmania Tournaments to be held there next weekend.
Also, on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday I’ll be guiding for bass there, so I should get a good grasp as to where the fish are. I hope! What’ll I be throwing? Can’t tell you everything until after the tournaments , but you can bet there will be some crankbaits involved as well as the Rapala X-RAP for sure. Have a good weekend guy, let me know how you do. Well, I am just back from the cottage and a good weekend of bass fishing. Now, I am not a pro - just a weekend warrior. But, I had the luxury of fishing with our Exec VP of Ops, Todd Daniluk, who showed me the ropes (Todd was the youngest or one of the youngest to ever win a bass tournament way back when). We had a blast and as you will see from the photo section of the website in the next few days, landed a number of beautiful large mouth and smallies, before releasing them. More on it later as we used products from our sponsors and can tell you what worked best. How bout you all?
